CoreScanner

Scanned core surface
The ImaGeo corescanner is a self-developed field equipment. It scans the surface of a maximum 1 metre long core of cylindric shape. The result is a good resolution image of the outstretched core surface. The pixel size is 0.075 mm.
Considering that the diameter of cores can be 20 cm the most, the largest resulting image size is 13,333×8,377 pixels, which is more than 110 megapixels. The scanning takes 12 minutes depending on the core diameter.
The ImaGeo corescanner is built in a van, so it can be used wherever the drilling is going on. Its software makes colour adjusting and other histogram-based image adjusting possible. The images are evaluated by self-developed software.
